Veterinary Experience: Robin qualified from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 1996 and after a spell of locuming in small animal practice he moved to Yorkshire and joined a busy mixed practice. In 1998 he started working at Bayer, Garrett and Freeman at our old site on Coggeshall Road in Braintree and became one of the practice partners in 2003.

Interests: : Robin enjoys all aspects of the first opinion side of the practice and he particularly likes the challenges that veterinary medicine brings.  Robin also has a keen interest in poultry medicine. He was made Honorary Veterinary Surgeon to the Poultry Club of Great Britain in 2011, a post he still holds.  He is the UK's most successful poultry breeder having won a record 7 Supreme / Reserve Supreme Show Champions at the Crufts of the poultry world, beating over 6,000 birds on each occasion.  He and his birds have appeared in books and magazines on more than 200 occasions, including publications in North America, Europe and Australia.  His highlights are being photographed by Lord Snowdon for the Sunday Times and being featured in Country Life Magazine.  Robin has written numerous articles on poultry breeding and has a global reputation as a poultry breeder having been asked to contribute to books and provide advice for breeders as far a field as Australia. 

Activities: Robin shares his life with his wife Dot (one of our MVP vet nurses) and two children.  Spending time with his family is important to him.  When he is not doing any of the above he will be found out in the field with his beloved Dexter cows.
