Cert.VN Anaesthesia&Theatre Practice RVN
Head of Department - Theatre

Nursing Experience: I first started at the practice in 2005 as a student from the Writtle College animal care department, during the work experience I was fortunate to be offered the role of Trainee Veterinary Nurse and started working full time in July 2006. In 2009 I became a Theatre nurse. My passion lies within the theatre area and since 2009 I have enjoyed participating in a number of courses and certificates. In 2013 I gained a certificate in Anaesthesia and Analgesia, and in 2014 gained a Merit Award in Surgical nursing, and I plan to add more qualifications over the next few years.  I was promoted to Head of Department, as Head of Theatre Nursing in 2016 and manage our busy theatre environment.

Interests:  I also have a keen interest in rabbit surgery and medicine. I have recently become a Clinical Nursing Specialist in the Theatre and enjoy the responsibility of ensuring it runs as smoothly as possible, and that my patients have the best possible care.

Activities:  My hobbies outside of work are running, swimming and yoga. I also enjoy looking after my 4 rabbits (soon to be more I am sure!) and cat. I have been looking after rabbits since I was 12 and have a huge love for them.

Lydia is currently on maternity leave
