Jan Kappes

Jan Kappes

Experience: I joined the practice just before we moved to our current premises in Millennium Way, previously serving 22 plus years with the London Fire Brigade, and 3 years with another practice. My job mainly involves meeting and greeting clients and helping them get the best from the practice in whatever way I can. I am also responsible for liaising with our cremation service and contacting clients when their pet’s ashes are returned. I am a qualified first aider (human that is) and take every opportunity to improve my skills in all aspects of my job.

Interests: I enjoy swimming, walking, caravanning, reading, rugby union (watching not playing), sleeping, animals in general but dogs in particular and of course my job!

Activities: I live with my partner John and our four dogs, three cats, hens, ducks and bees which keep me busy. I belong to a local dog club and try to train my dogs to have manners. All our dogs except the latest addition have passed The Kennel Club Good Citizens Award to at least the silver standard although there are times when I wonder how! We are members of The Braintree Beekeepers Association and get involved with training and mentoring new Beekeepers. You may guess that all that doesn’t leave much free time, but as often as possible we love to get away with our caravan and have been to most parts of the country.
