Laser therapy - its here!

We have invested in a specialised laser machine for our patients. Laser therapy works by increasing the circulation, drawing oxygen and nutrients to the effective area to create an optimal healing environment. We can use this laser treatment in a variety of situations ...
... where the patient experiences pain or there is a delay in healing, conditions such as:
  • arthritis
  • joint pain
  • sprains, puncture wounds
  • post traumatic injury
  • post-surgical pain
  • neck and back pain
  • hip dysplasia
  • burns
  • chronic wounds
  • rehabilitation
  • post-orthopaedic surgical recovery
After a series of laser treatments the injured area returns to normal, pain is relieved, swelling reduced, healing promoted and an increase in the pets range of movement clearly visible.

We have already used this in a number of patients and their owners report a real improvement in their pet’s condition.

Where laser treatment is recommended a treatment schedule will be drawn up for each individual pet as their needs and conditions will vary. Each treatment is cumulative and as an example pets will have a treatment every other day in the first week, twice a week in the second and just once in the third week. After that booster treatments can be given as needed. Where the laser is used for wound management, the laser treatment intervals are more regular.

There is no patient sedation or restraint required and the experience is usually pleasant and comforting to the pet.
