Advice on Pet Insurance
Each year 1 in 3 pets are injured or become ill and need urgent veterinary treatment. Insurance can help you cover the cost of these unexpected bills leaving you free to concentrate on helping an important member of your family recover or be treated for their condition. There are many different insurance companies, choosing the right one can be difficult especially as comparison sites aren’t well suited to comparing policies – they work very differently from e.g. house or car insurance. Policies with life cover are recommended, but be sure to check the small print.
It’s worth noting insurance claims are not automatic. We do not process direct claims without pre-authorisation. This requires approval from the insurance company and from us and are not exclusive. Please mention any intension to make an insurance claim, whether new or ongoing, when we see you and your pet or when collecting medication for them. A £10 administration fee is charged at the start of each new claim.
If your pet is under the age of 18 months they are eligible for 5 weeks free insurance with Agria and can be activated at the same time as a vet appointment – please just ask.
