What the CMA’s Vet Report Means for You and Your Pet — from Millennium Veterinary Practice

We’re really pleased to see the recent results from the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), which has taken a closer look at the veterinary industry. Please click here to find out more CMA Findings

What this means to our clients?

As a fully independent practice, since 1966, we already offer transparency with our pricing and offer clear estimates before treatment. We only suggest treatments that your pet truly needs, always putting their health and wellbeing, and your personal circumstances first. You’ll always know who’s looking after your pet and making the decisions together about their care. We work closely with trusted local businesses, like Phoenix Pet Crematorium, who share our values of compassion and respect.

We also welcome the CMA’s proposals to improve transparency across the industry, including:

  • Requiring veterinary practices to disclose corporate ownership
  • Capping prescription fees
  • Banning sales incentives tied to specific treatments.

We have made the decision to reduce our prescription fee inline with their recommendations with immediate effect.

MVP remains committed to honesty, affordability, and the highest standards of care, treating your pet like our own, values that the CMA now confirms make a measurable difference for pet owners. The CMA’s findings confirm that independent practices like ours are delivering just that.
