XL Bully breeds - important update for owners

With the recent announcement by the Government on plans to ban American Bully XL type dogs, we are encouraging all owners to be aware of current advice. These dogs haven't been banned yet and the Government has announced there will be an amnesty period so owners will have time to prepare to register their dogs. Current advice includes preparing to have your dog neutered, ensure they are microchipped with details up-to-date and trained to wear a muzzle.

Please don't be concerned about muzzle training your dog.  It is beneficial for all dogs, regardless of breed or age, to be muzzle trained and is a very useful skill.  Firstly having a good fitting muzzle that allows your dog to breath and drink freely is recommended - this also makes training enjoyable as it becomes a food dispenser!  Secondly, relax! View this as just another skill trained on cue - have fun with your dog and help him to accept his/her muzzle with ease and not stress.
