Clinical Services
- Advanced Echocardiography & Pre-Anaesthetic Evaluations: Providing detailed transthoracic and Doppler echocardiograms to accurately stage heart murmurs, evaluate chamber dimensions, and guide long-term therapeutic timelines. This includes targeted pre-anaesthetic heart evaluations for patients with known or suspected murmurs to help our primary care vets tailor safer, case-specific anaesthetic protocols.
- Acquired Disease Management: Practical, long-term staging and therapeutic strategies for Canine Myxomatous Mitral Valve Disease (MMVD), Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM), and feline Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM).
- Arrhythmia Investigation: Diagnostic analysis of standard in-clinic ECGs to identify cardiac arrhythmias. While routine Holter monitoring is not kept in-house, external 24-hour ambulatory ECG monitoring can be easily coordinated and ordered through outside services when deeper investigation into syncope or complex arrhythmias is required.
- Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) Support: Offering tailored guidance on stabilization and long-term neurohormonal modulation therapies for stable or early-stage CHF cases. Highly intensive or critical presentations requiring continuous oxygen therapy and advanced monitoring fall outside this scope, and such cases require transfer to an appropriate 24-hour facility with dedicated overnight staffing.
Collaborative Philosophy
Lana believes that exceptional cardiac care relies on empowering the primary veterinary team. Rather than just diagnosing a patient in isolation, the goal is to demystify complex cardiology cases and bridge the gap between advanced diagnostics and everyday general practice.
