Kelly Hayhow
Accredited Veterinary Receptionist
Head Receptionist + Pharmacy Assistant
Experience
I started working at Moloney Vets in Braintree when I was 14, as a kennel assistant. When I left school in 1995 I started to train as a veterinary nurse. I continued to study and work for 10 years and became Head Nurse in the Braintree then at their Halstead branch. I took a career break to have my family which have kept me busy since!
I was fortunate enough to be offered a job as a veterinary receptionist here which fits perfectly with my family life. In 2018 I was promoted senior receptionist then head receptionist in 2021. I also work in our pharmacy.
I am the practices first accredited veterinary receptionist, after completing an extensive training programme receiving a gold award. I am very proud to have gained this qualification, which empowers me to help raise the standards and profile of the veterinary receptionist profession. Passing on valuable knowledge and experiences to newer members of the team is a passion of mine with the focus on giving the best client care service we can.

Interests
I love meeting and greeting people and using my previous experience on reception to help our clients and their pets. I have a very keen interest in wildlife. I rescue and rehabilitate a wide range of species from fallow dear, foxes and badgers to swans, blackbirds, hedgehogs and ducks. I am often heading home at the end of the day with a cardboard box!
Activities
I love spending time with my family and our pets. I have far too many animals at home to list, but they all keep me busy!
