We offer a range of Dermatology and Oncology treatment and procedures.

Dermatology and Oncology Referral Service

Our Dermatology and Oncology service provides a comprehensive range of diagnostic, medical, and procedural care for complex or challenging cases. We manage conditions including allergic and autoimmune skin disease, chronic infections, tumours, and oncological cases requiring chemotherapy or advanced surgical intervention.

Our on-site facilities include an in-house laboratory for cytology, haematology, and biochemistry, as well as advanced imaging modalities including radiography, ultrasonography, and CT scanning to support diagnosis and treatment planning.

For oncology cases, we offer chemotherapy protocols tailored to the individual patient and electrochemotherapy using a specialised electric pulse generator. All chemotherapy administration occurs in a dedicated treatment area to ensure staff and patient safety, and drug preparation is carried out under a fume cupboard in line with best practice guidelines.

Surgical Support

Dermatology and oncology cases are supported surgically by Shaun Smith and Tina Dutta, both highly experienced in small animal surgery:

  • Shaun Smith – RCVS Certificate in Small Animal Surgery; expertise includes soft tissue surgery, ENT procedures, BOAS surgery, minimally invasive techniques such as laparoscopy, and advanced diagnostic imaging.
  • Tina Dutta – RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery; experience includes complex soft tissue procedures, tumour resections, and reconstructive surgery.

This multidisciplinary approach ensures that complex cases receive comprehensive surgical and medical input, with advanced expertise applied to optimise outcomes.

Clinician

The service is led by Stefaan Van Poucke, RCVS Certificate in Veterinary Dermatology, and holder of a Clinical Oncology Postgraduate Diploma from the University of Birmingham.
