We opened the practice for all our visitors to take a good look behind the scenes and the facilities we have, from our wardsand theatres to diagnostic imaging rooms and laboratory.
The rooms were set up in themes from diets and flea treatment advice to physiotherapy and mock-surgical demonstrations. The weather was very kind to us and all the visitors enjoyed the outside events, including a bouncy castle and ice-cream van!
Many of the 50 members of staff took part in the events, along with a number of staff dogs! Vets David Garrett, Robin Creighton, Stefaan Van Poucke and Lindsey Nice all joined Head Nurse Gary Rutland, Practice Manager Carol Hudson and the nurses, receptionists and office staff for the day.
The much coveted Braintree's Got Talent Guinea Pig Show was also a success. Over 30 Guinea Pigs entered the various classes and were judged by Registered Veterinary Nurses Hannah Bourn and Lindsey Raven. All our winners received a jubilee rosette and prize card, to continue the Queen's Jubilee celebrations!
We raised over £425 for the Retired Greyhound Trust, from a combination of competitions, selling home made cakes and a large prize draw! The Build-a-Bear Snoopy with his limited edition Millennium Veterinary Practice surgical suit was a huge hit.
