In an emergency - are you prepared?

Emergencies are just that, but being prepared will really help save you time and additional worry if you know where to go e.g. if this is out of hours and how you will get there especially if you have no transport. While we do offer house calls, it is not always possible or in the best interest of your pet to attend your house.

Emergencies can be caused by many different reasons: from bee stings and ingesting poisons such as chocolate, raisins and lilies to road traffic accidents, seizures and difficulties in breathing.  01376 325511 is still the number to call - during our normal opening hours we accept emergencies.  Outside of these hours, calls are redirected to VetsNow emergency service.  This clinic is usually based in Witham.

Please give us a ring, even if you are on your way to the practice - we need to know you are coming and the type of emergency to prepare for.  Emergencies are encouraged to attend Braintree rather than our Coggeshall branch where the necessary facilities are not available, during our opening hours.

Whether an emergency or not please consider in advance, how you will get your pet to the practice if you have no transport, e.g. family, friends, neighbours, taxis or animal ambulances.
