Leanne qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2000 after training with Millennium Vets, where she’s worked ever since. With over two decades of experience, she’s cared for countless patients across all areas of the practice, though she now focuses mainly on ward nursing, lab work, and diagnostic imaging.
Inspired by a love of animals from a young age — and a school work experience placement she loved — Leanne is known for her calm, compassionate nature and enjoys helping hospitalised patients recover and return home. She thrives on the variety of the role, saying no two days (or animals!) are ever the same.
She says the most rewarding part of the job is “seeing the results of good nursing care,” and the biggest misconception? “That we just cuddle animals all day!”
Interests
No two patients are the same and I can't say I have a favourite species! All of them present with their own unique character and needs. I am particularly interested in nursing our hospitilised patients in the wards, laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.
Activities
Outside of work, Leanne juggles family life, a house renovation, running (including half marathons), and caring for her own furry and feathered family — including a dog, cat, rabbits, guinea pigs, ducks, chickens, and pygmy goats!
