Sally Benstead
Veterinary Receptionist

Experience
I began my career in the veterinary world in 1999 as a trainee veterinary nurse, having previously worked for the RSPCA in Wethersfield. I qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2003 after studying at Writtle College and completing a structured, work-based training programme at the practice.
Interests
Throughout my time in practice, I’ve enjoyed all aspects of nursing, but I had a particular interest in the laboratory. I spent many years working in our in-house lab, running blood tests and examining a wide variety of samples. After some time, I transitioned into a reception role and now work part-time on our cabin, our version of a drive through for medication collection and hub for answering the phone — a position I really enjoy as it allows me to combine my clinical knowledge with client care.
Activities
Outside of work, I love spending time with my son and our three dogs—two Alaskan Malamutes and a longhaired Chihuahua. I also enjoy curling up with a good book whenever I get the chance.
