This June, Rabbit Awareness Week (RAW) is back — and it's bouncing into hearts across the country with this year’s heartwarming theme: Happy Hoppy Homes. From June 23rd, we're celebrating our beloved bunny companions with a week full of education, inspiration, and plenty of fluffy fun.
Whether you're already a devoted rabbit owner or you're just starting to think about welcoming a bunny into your life, RAW is the perfect opportunity to learn how to give these intelligent, social animals the care and home they truly deserve.
🏡 Why “Happy Hoppy Homes”?
This year’s theme is all about rethinking rabbit housing. Gone are the days when a hutch at the bottom of the garden was considered enough. Rabbits need room to roam, toys to explore, companionship, and stimulation to stay happy and healthy.
Rabbits are curious and playful by nature — they dig, hop, chew, and interact with their environment. A “Happy Hoppy Home” means more than just food and shelter; it means creating a space that supports their natural behaviours, encourages exercise, and makes them feel like a real part of the family.
Think cosy indoor set-ups, secure outdoor runs, hidey holes, puzzle feeders, and time spent with their favourite humans and bonded bunny friends. This week is about raising awareness and helping owners take those next steps toward enriched, rabbit-friendly living.
