Experience
Joined Millennium Vets: 2016
Qualified as a Veterinary Nurse: 2011
Promoted to Head of Wards Department: 2017
Emma has been a dedicated veterinary nurse since 2008, qualifying in 2011 after completing her training at a practice in Saffron Walden, where she worked for nine years. She joined Millennium Vets in January 2016 and was promoted to lead our Wards Department in 2017.
Emma holds the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM) Feline Nursing Diploma, which she completed with merit in 2018. She has a special interest in feline medicine and behaviour, and is passionate about ensuring every cat receives the calm, compassionate care they need — especially those who are nervous or long-term inpatients.
Emma is always looking to expand her knowledge and has aspirations to complete further study in feline care. One day, she hopes to volunteer in Africa working with big cats.
One of her most memorable clinical experiences was assisting in an emergency caesarean for a Great Dane — just Emma and the vet lifting the patient onto the surgical table and helping deliver ten healthy puppies.

Activities
At home, Emma cares for six rescue cats! Many of whom were rescued and have overcome huge challenges:
Two 17-year-olds, one of whom lost her leg after a dog attack
Two 15-year-olds, including a tripod boy she adopted as an injured stray kitten
An 11½-year-old hand-reared from just 2 weeks old
And a 4½-year-old who was found in a skip and given a loving home
Her love and understanding of feline behaviour extends well beyond the practice!
