Michelle Rana MRCVS
BVSc CertAVP(SAM) MRCVS
Assistant Veterinary Surgeon

Experience
Michelle graduated from Bristol University with distinction in 2008 and began her veterinary career in a small animal practice in Basildon. After two years, she relocated to North Wales, where she spent the next 15 years working in both North Wales and Cheshire, most recently in a busy small animal hospital.
In 2018, Michelle achieved her certificate in Small Animal Medicine, and in 2021 she was awarded Advanced Practitioner status by the RCVS. Alongside her clinical work, she spent time at the RVC’s Beaumont Sainsbury Animal Hospital, where she supervised final-year veterinary students during their first opinion rotation—supporting them in developing their surgical and consulting skills.
Interests
While Michelle holds additional qualifications in medicine, she enjoys all aspects of first opinion practice. She particularly values building relationships with clients and their pets, and working together to create tailored care plans that best suit each individual case.
Activities
Outside of work, Michelle loves travelling, photography, hiking, and trail running—often alongside her two brothers in the Lake District! In 2016, she spent time volunteering in Malawi, where she helped vaccinate over 20,900 dogs against rabies in just two weeks. A more recent highlight was a photography tour to Botswana, where she was able to combine her passions for wildlife, conservation, and photography.
